A place where knowledge meets creativity to shape better futures in aged care and neurological health.
Brightwater creates communities where people can thrive, connect and belong. The Brightwater Centre for Research & Innovation brings this vision to life by combining pioneering research, strong partnerships, and practical innovation to reshape the future of care. Here, ideas become real-world solutions that improve daily life. Every project we pursue is guided by one simple question: How can this make life better for the people we support and their families?
Drawing on the World Health Organisation's pillars for brain health - body, mind, environment, and community - our work is grounded in evidence and driven by compassion. From testing new therapies and technologies, to building programs that reduce isolation and loneliness, we are committed to advancing care in ways that are real, human, and lasting.
We don't chase buzzwords. Instead, we find smarter, kinder, and more practical ways to support people in their everyday lives.
We are building WA’s first purpose-built Young Onset Dementia (YOD) home — a place of dignity, purpose, and connection for people in their 30s–60s living with dementia.
Co-designed with families and guided by national dementia design priniciples, this world-class home in Waikiki will provide a safe, age-appropriate, and enabling environment for people living with young onset dementia. As a first-of-its-kind model in WA, the home will not only transform the lives of residents and their families but also pave the way for best practice dementia care across the sector.
Brightwater is seeking support to establish this purpose-built Young Onset Dementia home in Waikiki.
