Handcrafted Stories: The Cove Completes the Creative Age Project with City of Mandurah & CAN

Brightwater The Cove Creative Age Project Lunch Event 1

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of the Creative Age Project at Brightwater The Cove, delivered in partnership with the City of Mandurah and Community Arts Network (CAN).

Through a series of creative workshops led by producer Tegan Jenkins and lead artist Sandy McKendrick, residents explored themes of memory, identity, food, family and connection. The outcome: handcrafted placemats, collaged visual stories that honour personal and cultural histories.

The greatest impact was beyond the artwork. Residents opened up in surprising, deeply personal ways; others expressed themselves through images and brief storytelling, even when words were hard to find. The sessions fostered belonging, dignity and joy.

Our sincere thanks to Tegan, Sandy, our residents and staff, and our partners at the City of Mandurah and CAN for a meaningful, person-centred creative experience.
