Medicines play a huge role in aged care, which is why using them safely is paramount.
The MEGA-MAC project is a national initiative led by Monash University and funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care through the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). Its aim is to improve medication safety in residential aged care by supporting the 2022 Guiding Principles for Medication Management in Residential Aged Care Facilities.
Brightwater was pleased to support the project by testing the MEGA-MAC indicators at The Cove and The Oaks. These indicators help aged care homes check how well they are meeting the guiding principles and strengthen the safe use of medicines.
We’re proud to contribute to research and innovation that helps improve medication safety and deliver better outcomes for residents.
