Brightwater Research Centre recognised as AAG Collaborating Research Centre

We’re proud to share that the Brightwater Research Centre has been recognised as a Collaborating Research Centre by the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG).

This recognition connects us to a national network of universities, research institutes and industry partners dedicated to improving ageing and aged-care research across Australia. Brightwater is one of 16 recognised centres — and one of only two industry-based Collaborating Research Centres, alongside Bolton Clarke.

What it means

As an AAG Collaborating Research Centre, Brightwater Research Centre will:

  • Contribute research insights to AAG’s website, newsletter and other communications

  • Participate in focused discussions at the annual AAG Conference forum for CRCs

  • Collaborate with peers across Australia on pressing issues in gerontology and aged care

Why it matters

This recognition reinforces Brightwater’s role as an active contributor to the national conversation on ageing and aged care. It creates new opportunities to share evidence and insights, influence best practice, and strengthen collaborations across the sector.

It also provides a pathway for future recognition as an International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) Collaborating Centre, which would extend Brightwater’s reach to the global stage.

Looking ahead

The Brightwater Research Centre is committed to improving the lives of older Australians through evidence-based practice and innovative research. Becoming an AAG Collaborating Research Centre highlights our commitment to working collaboratively to advance research, policy and practice in ageing.
